The Future Of Platinum Arts Sandbox Free 3D Game Maker

July 7, 2013 in Free Game Maker News, Make A Game by Mike

I’m very interested in progressing Sandbox and making it the best choice to make a game that I’m considering hiring coders, modelers, etc to make Sandbox the best it can be and provide users with everything they need to jump right into making their own commercial games.  Please let me know what you’d like to see in Sandbox to make it the best it can possibly be for you in the Official Sandbox Wishlist Thread.  I will probably have a big public IRC meeting regarding this subject as well.  Stay tuned for details.  Thank you for your time and happy developing!

Make A Game

Make a game and sell it!! That’s what you can do with Platinum Arts Sandbox Free 3D Game Maker! So go make a game and we’ll even post information about it on the site!

Some of the content (mainly the models) can’t be used commercially but we have a license in every folder that says how the content can be used! We’re getting closer and closer to making 100% of the Sandbox content commercially usable! And to help you out now I’ve created a site that focuses on the process it takes to Make A Game.

There are so many awesome aspects of Platinum Arts Sandbox Free 3D Game Maker to make a game but one of my favorites is the non restrictive license meaning you can do almost anything you want with it especially since the code is completely open source so you can change anything you want! Another favorite is that you don’t have to use clunky external grid based programs to do the level design work, you can actually do that all in game, and even cooperatively with friends! I’ve built a city with over 20 kids in the same world at the same time all working on different parts! Editing is as easy as hitting F1 or E for edit mode and selecting an area and pushing or pulling with the mouse wheel to edit terrain! You can even make bumps or caves using heightmap mode or even really tall mountains if you’d like! There are many models that can quickly be placed from the menu and you can copy and paste them by clicking on C to copy and then V to paste. The development is so fast and easy you can literally have an area built in a few hours or less once you get the hang of everything.  So you could potentially even make a game in a few hours!

If you want to see more of the awesome features check out our About Page!
