Make A Game

February 3, 2013 in Free Game Maker News, Make A Game by Mike

Make a game and sell it!! That’s what you can do with Platinum Arts Sandbox Free 3D Game Maker! So go make a game and we’ll even post information about it on the site!

Some of the content (mainly the models) can’t be used commercially but we have a license in every folder that says how the content can be used! We’re getting closer and closer to making 100% of the Sandbox content commercially usable! And to help you out now I’ve created a site that focuses on the process it takes to Make A Game.

There are so many awesome aspects of Platinum Arts Sandbox Free 3D Game Maker to make a game but one of my favorites is the non restrictive license meaning you can do almost anything you want with it especially since the code is completely open source so you can change anything you want! Another favorite is that you don’t have to use clunky external grid based programs to do the level design work, you can actually do that all in game, and even cooperatively with friends! I’ve built a city with over 20 kids in the same world at the same time all working on different parts! Editing is as easy as hitting F1 or E for edit mode and selecting an area and pushing or pulling with the mouse wheel to edit terrain! You can even make bumps or caves using heightmap mode or even really tall mountains if you’d like! There are many models that can quickly be placed from the menu and you can copy and paste them by clicking on C to copy and then V to paste. The development is so fast and easy you can literally have an area built in a few hours or less once you get the hang of everything.  So you could potentially even make a game in a few hours!

Free Game Maker New Webpage And Upcoming Game!

February 2, 2013 in Free Game Maker News by Mike

As I’m sure you can see I’m working on a new webpage for Platinum Arts Sandbox Free Game Maker. Unlike the old one this one should fly like the wind and even though it doesn’t look too pretty right now don’t worry I still have a lot of work to do on it. If you come across something that isn’t working correctly please let me know! Also of course feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the forum. I have done a lot of tweaking on this new page to make sure it runs as fast as possible and I’m trying to keep it clean but look nice as well. I have some more tweaks to do but it already has a 92/100 speed rating according to google which is really good!!

Also here is a sneak peak at an upcoming project from the team, I will be posting more about this soon!
D. The Atom Shifter is an action RPG where you literally have the ability to customize your character at will! The human race is being annihilated and to try to prevent complete obliteration a great wizard created D. who can shift his atoms at will and absorb the atoms of other beings into himself to give himself even more power. The game is going to be a single player action RPG with swords, magic and horror elements! D. will be a horror themed action rpg game for Windows and Linux!

Lots more art and information is on the way! Also we have a trailer we’re working on that we’re quite excited about and we can’t wait to show you all of the cool stuff we’ve been working on! Also feel free to join our newsletter at our webpage Dactionrpg.com and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
Take care and have an awesome day!
